this is actually a tag from Ella. in that tag I should share six unimportant things about me. then I thought i'd just list those 6 things pertaining to my pregnancy just to make it more fun! so here goes nothing...

1. i use 4 pillows just to make sure i'm comfy lying on my left side when i sleep. 1 for my head, 2 that supports my back and 1 body pillow that i embrace and put in between my legs.

2. i make sure that i wear red (or any shade of red or anything that has a touch of red) on all my doctor's appointments. don't ask why? and i am far from being superstitious, pramis.

3. i hate it when i drop my things just because i don't want to bend down and get them. it's hard! (and that explains why nel's the one cutting my toenails while i'm preggo).

4. nel and i had been watching most of the new movie releases in the big screen. we also are taking advantage of other shows like plays and had been around the area all summer weekends enjoying the sun out. we won't be able to do any of these for a long while when kiko arrives for sure.

5. i don't like how braxton-hick's contractions feel! as in! it scares the hell out of me!

6. nel and i sooo love and look forward to all the "alien"-like moves that kiko makes in my tummy! i don't even know why we get sooo amused when my belly is unevenly shaped, thus knowing which side my baby is lurking at. aliw lang!

so there's my 6! :)... wow, 9 more weeks to go! (well, more or less) ;)

house projects #7 and #8: the backyard flower & produce boxes and the plant area

start date: fall '07
end date: june '08

these projects are actually just chunks of the whole backyard project. the other chunks have been completed last fall. these new ones didn't actually take the whole 9 months to finish. nel just had to stop during winter, of course, and just resumed around spring time.

for the plant boxes (the flower and produce boxes), nel really laid out all those bricks one by one until he reached the height he needed. he then filled it up with premium top soil, planted some perennial and annual plants for the flower box. for the produce box, he planted eggplant, roma and grape tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries and watermelon. (his herbs and other seedlings are on separate pots). hmmm.. i wonder when we could start harvesting ;)

he filled the rest of the plant bed with gravel and mulch and he planted evergreens, trees (a maple tree, a cherry tree and an apple tree), tulips, roses and other perennial plants and flowers.

and so, tadah! ... this is how our backyard looks like now... (just please click on each pic to have a bigger and better view)

to better utilize the yard, we had our patio set up so that we'll have a "tambayan" during mornings and summer evenings or whenever the sun is not strongly beaming at us.

i don't think this backyard project will ever be complete! we probably will be planting some more plants and replacing them every year. or we'll probably do some more landscaping changes here and there. well, it's fun anyway so it should be alright!

and yes people, that's one proof that you can really make friends, and keep them, even in the cyber world!

on the last home stretch and loving it!

i finally am on the first day of the third trimester already! woohoo! and i'm just loving this pregnancy more and more. aside from the greatest miracle that happened and will soon be coming into our lives, here are a number of reasons why... in no particular order...

1. seeing 2 pink lines on the ept... i only tested once before this (i never get delayed that's why), and it was negative. frustrating diba? so imagine finally passing the test without even reviewing for it! :)

2. wearing the "pusonic" beauty loud and proud! ... though now, it's not just puson. i just love the undeniably-pregnant look!

3. being able to park at the expectant mothers' parking space... malapit!

4. everyone's happy around me and for us... you just can't ignore the smiles of almost everyone who sees me and my protruding belly (and yes, some going all the way to rubbing my belly... which is actually fine with me)

5. others' concern for my well-being... from hubs, to my family, to my friends, and yeah, including everyone at work :) .. ah, it just feels nice to be cared for ;)

6. the fact that i can make "inarte" anytime since i have a valid reason, hehe ... (and then hearing comments like "kung di ka lang buntis" from my closest friends, nyahahaha)

7. it's easy to request for something from anyone (and much easier to demand, haha)

8. i can snap at someone and he/she totally understands, and i can also easily apologize... and yes, everyone's giving and forgiving :)

9. healthy ~~appetite~~ paranoid eating... or just eating. period. ang sarap kumain e! and yes, i often use the line that "i'm eating for two".

10. great-looking maternity clothes... and yes, there's a valid reason to shop!

11. being pampered and spoiled by the hubs, heehee (at wag raw sanayin sabi ng ibang mister at baka umabuso raw ako :D)...ah, he's at my beck-and-call just because he loves me (well, if kiko's not with me, i surely will be doing more chores).

12. those growing pains... though the discomforts are disturbing (i'm not a masochist... i just want my baby to continually grow, so part yun ng saya ng pagbubuntis)

13. the pregnancy glow!... sure i don't have what most preggy moms have (well, with the uber-active hormones producing uber-active pimples, with some body parts darkening like there's no tomorrow, with slightly swelling feet and legs and with traces of starting stretch marks showing!), but with the husband telling me i am more beautiful than ever and that feeling of ecstasy, the "glow" just emanates!

14. those baby kicks and acrobats that are painful sometimes but rest-assuring (i'd rather have her hurt me than being mahinhin and not moving at all)

15. the responses that kiko gives when we talk to her, tell her stories and sing to her

16. the belly rubs, kisses and smooches by nel with a lot of panggigigil!

17. shopping and window-shopping for kiko and her nursery

18. the nursery project which has already started. yey!

19. receiving gifts and tons of baby stuff, all for kiko

20. sharing and comparing notes and stories with other moms and other preggy moms

21. the updates i get online as to how kiko's growing week-by-week while imagining how she looks like

22. all our doctor appointments assuring me that kiko's fine and doing great

23. hearing kiko's heartbeat every visit and seeing her through the scans

24. whenever i update kiko's blog and reading and rereading past entries

25. looking for names that would work best for kiko... and yes, we do have a first name, finally! :)
26. the way i call kiko "anak" ... and knowing that we are calling her that because she is our own "anak"

27. how nel and i talk about, prepare and plan continuously for (and share dreams about) parenthood and the future, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc..ly.

see! i've got a long list, and i'm pretty sure that with my brains getting all rusty and undependable (can i blame the hormones again?), there are still some more to add to this list. ah well, i'm just happy and loving it and really, there's only God (as well as His mother and His friends) to offer and attribute this for! thank you Lord! and thanks to everyone who's been supportive, caring and understanding of this pregnancy.

please pray for us, specially kiko, as we hop on in the last-three-month boat! :)

i know! i feel like a stage aunt! ibang-iba pala ang feeling pag 1st-degree pamangkin mo! ang saya-saya! (i'm sure the mom feels much more... lalo na ang 1st time lolo and lola, hahaha)

hay i just really wish i'm with my family right now. i really wanna hold yana. kakagigil e! i even watched this video over and over and over. she's sooo cute! she already knows how to smile! more videos and pics pls, tito ruprup! :)
